Exhaust manifold

Hey ya'll,

Quick question here... late last week StockJeep had the exhaust manifold replaced on her '94 Wrangler 2.5 (the old one was cracked).

I got up under the thing today and noticed that the heat shield around the exhaust manifold was right up against the driver's side motor mount and due to heat transfer and such it had melted the rubber within the motor mount.

This is obviously not a good thing. The question is, should that exhaust manifold even HAVE a heat shield to begin with? I'm pretty sure that the
one that came off of it did not and wonder if there was something missing from the old one or if the new one is supposed to be some sort of "universal" fit.

Any help is appreciated (this is why I stick with CJ's, fewer things to worry about... usually ).

If ya'll hear about someone going totally off the deep end at a Merchant's Tire in Charlottesville it was me. I work there, you would think they'd take better care with my vehicle than that!! Truthfully, I told myself I should do it at home, but I didn't have the time... doom on me for letting someone
else awaken the Jeep Gremlins again
