Back out on the trail

Two weeks ago me and the boys went on our yearly offroad trip. This time we went back to Burning Rock offroad park and had a great time. It was off season, so we had the park pretty much to ourselves which was cool - it was also really wet.

One thing that I noticed is that my TJ had a much harder time in the deep mud then the two JK Unlimiteds I was with. I suppose that the longer wheelbase helped them out (I have 33s and they have 33 /32s)

We got stuck plenty of times, and I even got to try out my winch for the first time ever.

We ended up getting me out of this hole with my buddy's kinetic rope. I had never used one before (only the standard tow straps), but that thing was amazing. It took a few running starts, with me moving forward a foot at a time until I was out.

Getting the mud out of the frame is always fun.

I've washed it twice, and it's just "dirty" now. both times I'd put the pressure washer into each hole in the frame and blast for what felt like forever. I've got the water running out clean now though.

one time, of all the many many times friends and i did that, my alternator, electric fan, and ac clutch got messed up from the mud. i was bummed out. the radiator was clogged up and we were trying to wash it out with river water so we could get it somewhere that was easier to get it with a truck to the house

Good point make sure you could see light through the radiator and condenser.

I had a f150 ordered and i decked it out w ss side steps, grill blackouts, visor… A friend of mine had me take a dirt road i never drove on before. He told me to punch it over a hill. I hesitantly did only to find a huge puddle of water on the other side. My 1 mo old F150 buried up to the doorhandles in muddy water. Despite cleaning it all out eventually the frame rotted Where water was trapped. I was too young to know enough and drill small drain holes.
