An alternative would be a 4.5 SUA kit, 1" BL and some TJ flares, but...
Although axle wrap is a factor with a SOA, don't let it scare you away from doing it. Worse comes to worse you can get some traction bars. There is at least one set that has quick disconnects out there, but I can't recall who makes them.

You are going to need at least 6-7 inches of lift. If you by a kit get the RE 4.5" (IMO the best kit on the market)and put a 2" BL. Depending on the tires you choose there may still be a little rubbing at full stuff..Alot of tires are smaller then the say(unless you go swampers)

I have 7'' of lift and trimmed some of the rust and I have plenty.Your might want to look into getting new gears and get rid of the d35.
