hi every one. i am new to the game here. so i have been trying to decide on what size tires i can put on a a 89 yj with new stock springs, 1 inch body lift and tj flares. cant decide. iwant 32-10.50 or 31-10.50 please help enlightin me as what will fit best thanks in advace.

I ran 32" tires with a similar setup but instead of new springs I had added a full-length add-a-leaf. I think you'll be okay with 32" tires, the TJ flares make a huge difference.

Oh, and welcome to the Z.

well one guy says i dont have room for 31s and one guy says 32s will fit. i do know that every jeep is little bit different. ijust dont want to get the best size tire for this setup becaus i cannot put tire and lift at this point in time do to being financialy embarresed at this time thanks again

What size tires were stock for these? 29....30? How much are you really gaining by going up a little? 29 to 32 would only increase your clearance by 1.5". You've got brand new stock springs on it now so why not just run what you have until you can afford suspension upgrades or need to replace those stock springs?

If your tires are good enough for now - why not put the cash you have towards a drivetrain upgrade (lockers, performance, etc.)? I know it won't look as cool going down the road but you can beat the snot out of a lot of other vehicles off road with a Jeep locked stocker.

Like I said before, I'm not sure where the bigger tires would give you problems but I know I've had "too big" tires on stuff before and cussed every time I turned hard or went over big bumps. I'd hate to see you put what money you've got into something that's gonna p%ss you off every time you use them.

27" are generally the stock size, going to 32" will bring the tires about 2.5" closer to the fenders. The 1" BL and TJ flares will make plenty of room for those.

Here's my YJ when it had 32" tires. It sits about 1.5" higher than yours will due to full-length add-a-leaves. Everything else matches your plans, TJ flares and 1" BL.

BTW, the 1.5" AAL is an easy mod if you can score a spare pair of stock front leaf packs. Cut the spring eyes off and use the top two leaves from each pack. 1 long add-a-leaf to each spring pack and no other mods needed, stock shocks, steering, and driveline. The full length AAL's ride decent also, it's the short ones that ride rough.
