Resistance Wire

Still can't figure out whats wrong with my yj. Only thing me and my dad can come up with is the resistance wire. spend $300+ in parts and still isnt runnin. So if any of you have any resistance wire from a yj or that will work for a yj i will gladly take if off your hands for a fair price. i live in kansas. thanx a lot

If your Jeep manual supplies the resistance value of the section of resistance wire in question, take that spec to your local NAPA. Have them try to match the ohmage of the resistance wire to a common ballast resistor.

The resistance value of the ballast resistor should be close to the value of the resistance wire, but an exact match is not required.

Merely wire the ballast resistor into the ignition circuit to replace or bypass the existing resistance wire.

Ballast resistors are inexpensive, so this will not be a costly experiment.
