Rear Diff Oil

What kinda gear oil should I use for the rear D35 in my YJ and how much will I need? I have also been told the easiest way to do this is put the lube in a bottle with a squeeze top and fill er up that way. This true? Any suggestions would be much appreciated... Thanks a bunch.

Jacking up the rear and putting a couple of jack stands under the frame, helps. I´ve used the squeeze bottle method, I seem to remember tapeing a piece of aquarium tubing, on the end of the spout to get a good angle. Also heating up the oil, in a closed container, by putting it in a bucket of really hot water for awhile. Helps save a lot of squeezing.
I´ve missplaced my owners manual, so I can´t help you out with the how much, but if I remember right it takes 80-90 gear oil.

i bought a suction gun at autozone for $5... it has been a savior when replacing gear oils and tcase fluid... i suggest everyone gets one... but without that... i always found it useful to put some tubing into the fill hole, then run that tube up to a funnel in which i dumped my gear oil... or, i bought the oil with the squirt style caps... secured them upside down with the tube connected to it, and cut a hole in for air
