Putting Rubicon Coils Onto The TJ...

Hey folks,

Stupid question, I know. I have a 2" budget boost and a 1" body lift on my TJ. Its used pretty much on the road, and is a 4 banger with 32" tires. I am looking at getting some Rubicon coils for her (since its only like $20). I am told that these springs will give you an additional 1" of lift.

My question is, will this effect anything on my car and how it rides currently (ie: death wobble or transfer case problems). I hear the Rubicon coils are stiffer, is this the case, and how does it effect the ride?

Any other comments?

Thanks!
Rob

Hey, Rob, the only stupid questions are those that are not asked. I am by no means an expert on your query, but I can't imagine the Rubi springs affecting the ride all that much.......they're still coil springs - much more forgiving than leafs. You're running 32's with a 4banger? How's your performance? If you're lifting to fit bigger tires, you probably want to consider re-gearing, too.

You should be able to install them with no problems. The ride may be slightly stiffer, but may not be enough to notice.

Be sure to correct your caster, adjust it so the top of the front axle leans back as far as the cam bolts allow.
