I remember reading somewhere here that someone had done a manual workaround on that problem. Danged if I can find it now, but I'm sure someone will help you out. Somehow or other, they used a cable from the driver's compartment to the axle, but I don't remember enough of the specifics to be of any use.

good write-up, but the cable route shown here is optional  :

I also did the cable disconnect (homemade) and it works great and CHEAP.

here is a picture of the other end (at the disconnect) a very simple system.

But, with this system you have do destroy the seal on the inside of the vacuum switch housing so the vacuum system will not work anymore unless the switch motor is replaced(very exp oem). So maybe try the manual vacuum switch first.

You can always spend the money and get the "real" posilock for $160.00 and everyone has praised it.

oh.. BTW... theoretically you could keep the diaphram in place and leave the ports open (will cause more drag and would have to be cleaned out if switched back) if you dont want to trash the oem set up... you could also shop the bone-yards for a disconnect if you want to go back to stock (but who'd want to) - funny how if theres not a problem w/it you dont think of it - my 91 sahara never had a problem but my latest died and early death....

This is not directed at one particular person, maybe a few?

Wow, thanx guys, this will help like no other. I think ill try this $20 install before the $160.
