RE: need a little help

Hey guys!
I have a leak at the end of the front diff. near the wheel. There is a two parts plastic ring that is barely holding in place right there too. If that can help located what I'm trying to explain. Sorry, i do not no how to call that part. If you are with me, how can that be fixed? Is this the lube from the diff that is coming out? Thanks for your help

Sounds like an axel seal to me, but I could be wrong. If it is, you'd have to pull the hub and axel out to replace it.

RE: XJ Stalling

It's a leaky axle seal, and it's next to the differential and nowhere near the plastic mud guard you described.

Check the diff fluid and make sure it's not overfull or contaminated with water.

All of the above were right :( I had it fixed last week and I asked them if it would be better to replace both of them. The mecanic told me that only the dealer could fixed the passenger side. That he didn't have the tools to do it right. The problem is that now, the other side is leaking. what you guys think about this? what is the dif between the driver side and the passenger side? :? Do I have to go to the STEALER :(

RE: full traction suspension

Mechanics dont like doing the passenger side because of the disconnect. It is a two seal job, so I guess maybe thats the deal. But as far as I know it doesnt really involve any special tools.

RE: Track bar relocation?

The pass. side seal is next to the disconnect housing, don't know why the mechanic didn't want to do it.

Yeah I wondered the same when I had a mechanic tell me that. Claimed that they couldnt do it. I did it myself just fine.
