New Jeep Owner Questions... Help please?

I just bought my first wrangler... While totally INLOVE, I have a few questions I was hoping could be answered here...
I have an ’06 TJ
1. When I take my doors off is there a way to keep the interior lights off without unplugging the fuse?
2. What size tires can I buy without lifting my Jeep? (with the stock susp.)
3. I want to put a strapless bikini top on for summer, how damaging is the rain and is there any seat covers that are rain proof? And what about the carpets?

Try this link as an alternative on removing the fuse. http://www.4wd.com/productdetails.aspx?partID=12977.Try to keep your instrument panel dry when it rains. Corrosion is your enemy when they keep getting wet on the electrical connectors. The carpet can easily be peeled off if you dont want it soggy. Get a WET OKOLE seat covers. Also, if you have a stereo, try to protect it from the rain. Also, if you have speakers anywhere else other than the dash (and specially if they are facing up), check what material they are made of; polypropylene will stand up nicely to water, but paper cones will dissintegrate... As for tires, 31 X10.5 IIRC are the biggest you can run w/o lift on a TJ (it may rub a bit when the suspension flexes)...

Here is another option for turning off the interior lights. It is very easy to install. The wire leads go where the fuse is and the switch mounts under the glovebox.

Remove all rugs. Remove the back seat. Remove drain plugs. If you use the Best Top Header bikini you can install your door surround uppers and not much rain will come in when the doors are on. To separate the door surround uppers from the lowers just remove the "C" clip at the folding point and work the two halves apart. Then reinstall the upper "track" part to the roll bar so you can attach the bikini into it. The header bikini installs using a clamp-on windshield channel (no drilling). For highway trips on really rainy days you might want to get the rear curtain (goes right behind the seats and keeps rain from blowing onto the dash from the rear. When you park in the rain pitch your seats forward all the way to the dash to keep them "dry". Also, when parked in the rain on uneven ground your Jeep will collect quite a bit of water. The first couple of manuevers you make will send the water washing across your feet (and those of your passenger :lol::lol::lol unless you hold them up until the Jeep drains. Here is another option for turning off the interior lights. It is very easy to install. The wire leads go where the fuse is and the switch mounts under the glovebox.

You can always use a clothes pin (the metal ones work well) and hold the door pin from behind... THat's what I do and it works OK (sometimes it falls off and the light comes on, but hey, it's almost free!)

All I did for the dome light was remove the button from the door jam and unpluged it.It unplungs behind the actual switch.Then I put the switch in the glove box for winter.Cost $0 and takes less than 5 minutes.
