Hard doors rattling like crazy!!!!!!!

My 95 YJ's full hard doors rattle like crazy. It almost seems like they do not close properly. The door latches seem to not clamp around the door post very well. Any ideas as to how I can remedy this?

I had that problem with mine when I first intalled them. I put washers between the door striker mounts and where they mounted. The door strikers are adjustable, but the torx head on the striker was stripped out so I just moved the whole assembly a smidgen. Worked great and took less than a half hour.

may or may not work for you but I thought I'd share it.

When you close the doors do they latch on the first latch or the second? Close them softly and the latch should latch one time, and if you push it more it should latch a second time. If they only latch once you need to move the stricker out. If they latch 2 times you need to move it in. This is a simple procedure but kinda hard to explain in text. Hope this helps.

You mean thats not the "door is not ajar" chime?
sheesh!

It latches twice, so do I need to move the striker towards the door or towards the interior of the jeep?

Sounds like you need to move the striker in towards the interior. When I bought my YJ, the passenger door closed too far in (meaning the door edge to the rear sat in about a quarter inch inside the body panel) and the driver's door was the opposite. When the guys put my new top on, they adjusted both doors for me.

That's what mine did. I'm tellin' ya - washers! Be done with it!
