i checked my radiator coolant reservoir the other day and it was empty, filled it back up, drove a little bit and checked it again and it was empty, i cant find any leaks in the coolant system.....so where is the water going? can anybody help me?

If the coolant system has not got a leak and you are looseing coolant there is very few places it can be going. Leak has extrenal or interenal. External is bad and can be fixed via radaitor, heater core, hoses, ect... Internal can be a cracked block head ect.. not so ez to fix. Check you oil for white foam on the dip stick and or under the oil fill cap. Check you exaust for steam. hopefully this will help. tug

I have the same problem and have replaced all of my cooling components. I have no problems such as oil, exhaust etc... I just fill er up every now and then. I would like to know what is causing it.

The cooling system is a closed system if the water is leaving it has to be going some where. A not thought of item in the system is the cap. They loose their presure seal after time and need to be changed from time to time. Most radaitor repair places have a thing of a my gig to test them. Seems you fet alot of facts about cooling systems when you start sheeling out cast to rebuild one like I had to do with ol Tugly. Bud of Bud's Radaitor who helped me was very helpfull and we go the ol CJ's cooling like a pro after I give him a ton of cash! hehehehe tug

Take your coolant fill reservior off and check it. May have a leak on the bottom side, a seam, a hose where you can't see. LBR

Mine was doing the same thing and it was a small hole in the top half of the radiator. I couldnt even tell it was leaking untill i pulled it and took it to a radiator shop and had it checked.

If it is leaving that fast then there is a major leak. When you fill it up, let it run until it gets hot enough for the thermostat to open, then while it is running (careful of fan) give the top hose a good squeeze or two and look for leaks if it is not already obvious. It may be that it didn't get hot enough to be running through the system when you checked before.

A bad water pump will leak out of a hole in the front if it is bad. I've seen freeze plugs leak too.
