I have found a rear Dana 44 that was previously used with leafs. I need to convert it to run coils...Can anyone tell me what im getting myself into???

You need to get all the TJ coil brackets welded to the D44: coil buckets, control arm mounts, swaybar mounts, trackbar mount, shock mounts.

Look here at part #9700, it may work for you depending on how your axletube diameter compares to the 8.8, and how much you like grinding

they make the kit at rubiconexpress.com ther about 300 bucks for the complete kit per axle. not too bad but if u can live with out your jeep for a few weeks take out your old axle and bring the d44 and your jeep axle to a shop and they can measeur and weld all that together for you. thats what im in the process of doing after i get my pinion done rite hehehe

i would suggest taking it to a shop.... even if you are a confident welder and measurement maker... it would likely be a better choice to take it to someone who does it all the time, and who can align it properly

That is a good idea. You dont want to be crab walking down the road. But then again, none of us know how good you are with tools and measurements
