I have been tossing around the idea of swapping my 4.2 YJ over to a V-8 302 or 350 with an auto transmission. I think I am to the point that I have a very good idea how much $$$ the project would cost. Now I am not throwing in the towel on my V-8 conversion, but I figured I might want to look into building a nice I-6.

I have been looking into Clifford Performance and was wondering if anyone has had any experinces with the company or have used any of thier components?

If I was to keep my YJ I would convert it to propane, www.gotpropane.com, but I don't know if there would be any power loss or anything, just a thought.

Don't think I would want to run propane and risk bursting the tank in a rollover or something. Besides, I know of two people who have had propane conversions in their daily drivers and they both hated it. Maybe things have improved in the ten years since they had them but I know they had nothing but problems with them and a huge loss in power.

also with propane there are range issues - i was fueling my work truck when a Nev. Power guy was filling his propane tank for his work pickup - he has to fill it almost every day = he lives with it daily and hated it.... another reason i checked out that website for the propane, said "kewl" and moved on.... just my $.02....

Propane is great for a trail rig. It runs upside down. For a DD, not so much.

Holy Hijack!

I would consider building a stroker six. There is a lot of information on the web on how to do it. As a bonus,

you can collect the parts pretty reasonably. I know a couple of people running them and they have a lot of power. It's not quite like a built 350, but it's better than stock. Probably close to a stock 8cly.

Clifford has been around for a long time. I have never heard anything bad about them.
