on the rear tumble seat? I am heading to Moab and plan to get pretty stupid. Don't want the passengers to topple out off Lions Back or anything...

Anyone mount 3 or 5 point restraints on the rear seat? Maybe weld a plate across the frame under the seat cover? I don't think they are going to be long enough to go all the way over the seat and back down to the tub. Bought the Mastercraft 5 points and the Corbeau Moab seats for the front... like I said,... I get kinda stupid...

Run a crossbar behind your rear seat between either side of the roll bar and mount the shoulder harnesses there. Then build plates to mount the lap belts to and bolt them to the floor. Make sure the base of said plates is at least 3 inches wide and 5 inches long, and that you use a large plate washer on the underside of the tub to distribute the forces that are gonna be seen.

Really, the stock belts are fine. They are 3 point seat belts. If you get to somewhere where you going to be "stupid" you shouldn't have anyone but the shotgunner in the Jeep with you. The shotgunner is great for letting you know whats going on on the other side. Any one else isn't needed and is only more liability if you're going to be "stupid".

Do you really see yourself rolling or getting into a position where you may be on your side? Answer that honestly. If you get into a spot where you think the chance of rolling is high, are you gonna take the chance? Much less want to keep passengers? Everyone that rides with me knows the risk is high and at any moment they can tell me to stop so they can get out. Make sure your passengers are well aware of the fact that you intend to be "stupid" and that they in no way have to ride if they get uncomfortable at any point.

This advice is coming from a guy who's had his share of flops, rolls, close calls, dented tubing, and crushed hoods and body panels. It's good advice 8)
