My ABS works when im in the snow but not during the rain...Why so? someone help me before i lock up at teh wrong time

I can't help you on that one ....but I would like to know the answer on it though,,,,,,

Are you asking why do they not lock up in the rain? The ABS system mainly monitors the speed of each wheel through a sensor. If it detects that the wheels begin spinning at different speeds, it will engage to help keep the Jeep from losing control.

I wouldn't expect the ABS to constantly lock-up just because it's raining out. But if you slam your brakes on hard or feel like your skiding, then I'd expect ABS to engauge

The ABS system has its own computer which, (depending on what model year the Jeep is), should be pretty accurate at determining if there is a problem in the system (such as a wheel speed sensor not working). If a problem is detected you'd get a "CHECK ANTILOCK" light of some kind, unless the bulb is burnt out or missing  .

You should only hear the ABS working. In snow your wheels will actually slip more and make the ABS kick in .... with rain your wheels will not slip as much but the ABS will still work unless something is wrong.

Plus Rotors tend to be wet in the rain and the sensors don't sense the rotors slowing quick enough so they apply more... Screech.

But it should correct itself rather quickly.

I am not a fan of ABS but that's just the Old School in me. They do work but each circumstance they react differently.
