1999 TJ Transfer Case Leaking

I have a stock 1999 TJ with 31,000 miles. Warranty ran out two months ago. Transfer case is leaking badly at the first section back from the transmission. Is this a common problem with TJ's?



I called the dealer and they have seen this before. Quoted $750 to fix the leak. Sound resonable?

Sounds a little high to me, but most dealers are. I'd call around to some transmission shops and get a cople different estimates.[addsig]

I had the EXACT same problem with my '99 Sport wrangler. The Jeep dealer told me "it happens randomly." and charged me like 450 for work. I had many electrical problems, with wire insulation burning, and the random CHECK ENGINE lights coming on. Incidently, I was unable to find the computer codes when this happened. Nothing would blink.[addsig]
