    cb pics

mines simply mounted under the dash below the radio/heater controls - the mike holder is up by the guages - need an aux. speaker as the cobra's is underneath and almost inaudible at speed.... the dual antennae are at the rear (just used the truck mounts and ran the bolts thru the tub...)

    Questions?

first.. welcome to Jeepz! and from all i've heard, 33's are the most you want to run w/the stock 30/35 axles... the "pizza cutter" 10.5's will help but the torque on that diameter is still pretty rough for those axles... just my $.02... oh, and you can probably forget you even have 5th gear...

    back cross

wouldnt go too far - busted my rear yoke on my old jeep coming out of the xfer case and got to work on the front axle - also consider fluid loss with the rear yoke removed... if you dont HAVE to like I did youre prob. better off with a tow from a friend... just my $.02

    trans/heater vacuum link?

first off, welcome to Jeepz!! you'll like it here - now for your problem.... did you have any transmission prob's b/4 turning the heat on? just seems like a weird association between the two systems... try plugging the switch vac lines one at a time and maybe that will help narrow it down to the...

    Where is Fuel Filter??

look twd the rear on the frame rail on the drivers side i believe... - you'll see a protective skid plate (look for the fuel lines running in/out of it) - remove the plate and the filter is underneath... thats where it was on my old 91 Sahara... hope it helps!

    temp ? and shackle?

not sure about the shackle question... my 89 258 runs 180-190 even in 110+ deg weather - only heats more than that pulling a hill ... generally you dont want to run over 210 or so... just my $.02 - hope it helped...

    track bars

okay... i know about the liability aspect but figure w/all i've done w/my jeep i'm screwed if i cause a serious accident (knock wood) but i've been running w/out my front or rear track bar and front sway bar for over 2 yrs now and havent noticed a difference - course i dont run fast and try to...

    Steering wheel airbag/horn connection

was going to say the same thing - airbags are NOTHING to experiment with - one small spark or misswire and BOOM!!! - if youre not sure - find a pro that is... sounds like the prev. owner ran a custom wheel and put the stock one back on to sell it... this is one area i wouldnt experiment with -...

    Front Sway Bar Necessity

been about 2yrs with my 4"lift and no sway bar and no track bar (front or rear) and haven't had a problem (knock on wood!) even with the wind gusts we get here in the high desert - thought it would be squirelly without the track bar in front but i havent noticed a difference... think the lawyers...

heard splitfires are good... i always had good results from platinum tip champs... guess its like oil - personal choice... find what you like and stick with it... but i agree - dont go to the dealer... unless you just have waaaaay too much money... if so, you can just give it to me!!! just my $.02

    what steering collum will swap?

dont know if this helps or if youre still looking but the column in my 89 is identical to he one in the 91 i used to have - so you may have a wide range of years to choose from... dont know about swapping from model/model but i seriously doubt they were "model specific" - ask your local parts...

    4.2 a/c question

not really - but as often as you change out your plugs, you may just want to loosen up the comp. to get it out of the way (bit more work but not an every day thing..) rather than ditch the whole setup especially if you want to retain it for the OBA system ... (guess i'm shooting myself in the...

    4.2 a/c question

yea if you dont have the a/c it would have an idler like mine does..... you have the setup i want - theres an idler that mounts above the alt and on the bracket that holds the alt. - should use the same belt - find the idler (more common than the a/c config) and maybe we can talk about me buying...

    YJ to CJ

i'm thinkin the look comes from the cj's round rear wells - you may be able to put flares on that mimick that look (the YJ rear wheelwell is cut round) i was going to pull my flares altogether to get that look but the tires stick out too much - otherwise stock for stock they should be similar...
