YJ Filler and Vent hose replacement

Do you have to drop the gas tank in order to replace the fuel filler and vent hoses on a 1990 YJ?

The filter should be mounted on the inboard of the driver side frame right before the rear axle. The vent hoses, i dont know if it's on the center top or side.

He said FILLER, not filter, LOL. You can replace both hoses without dropping the tank, but it's kinda tough to get to the hose clamps on the tank. A body lift makes it easier, as does lowering the tank slightly.

My eye doctor told me my eyes are still good and in need of no glasses but when i'm checkering pistol grips and rifle stocks, i wear what's called Mag Eyes. Its a magnifying glass thats worn around the head but not as close as you would glasses. I swear i can see better with them than without it. Maybe someone switched the coffee to decaf. :evil:.

I replaced mine without dropping the tank... Not that difficult to do (but space IS limited.)

Thanks gang. Got both hoses changed. It was pretty tight and I had to cut the dry rotted hoses off, but it's done. Plus, I found the fuel filter.
