Which one?

I have a 97 TJ with 2.4. I just had this problem last night for the second time. On a long drive (4-6 hours) towards the end of the trip the motor starts losing power and sputters and cuts out at anything between an idle and full throttle. I get a check engine loght and codes for the O2 sensor and the Crank Position Sensor. Usually after cooling off maybe a couple of short 5-10 mile drives everything returns to normal. Normal being still a bit short on power I think and only getting about 170 miles to the tank. At this moment I only have the funds to replace one of the sensors. I suspect that one is causing the problem with the other. Which one would probably be my best bet to start with?

The '97 has the 2.5L, the 2.4L wasn't available until around '04.

I'd replace the CPS, it's upstream from the o2 in the big scheme of things mechanical in your jeep.

Which o2 sensor was the code for? You should have two. They're both probably due to be replaced if they never have.
