Transmission noise

So Ive noticed that a lot of times when I have the transmission in nuetral and the clutch out, I'm getting a low rumbling type of noise. I've been told probably either throw-out bearing or input shaft bearing. But I always thought that a throw-out bearing usually makes noise with the clutch in. Anyway, anybody got any ideas? 2003 TJ 6cyl. 5spd

That noise sounds like the description many newer TJ's owners experience, seems they are inherently noisy trannies.

had the same thing on my TJ. they "replaced" the throw out bearing and the noise was still there. Everybody I know who has a 5 speed TJ has that noise, doesn't seem to cause any problems though

Thats fine, the noise itself doesnt bother me, I was just worried about what it might be. Thanks!
