Strange noise from below?

Ok the last day or two i have noticed a strange squeal or something. It is not the motor. It is coming from the backend. Transfer case, drivesaft, rearend. I notice the rear is a little greasie. I just changed the oil in it a few months ago. Does anyone have any suggestions? Oh ya it is only a lower speed.

Check your fluid levels in the transmission transfer and diff's. Cant hurt and while you are doing that you may notice something strange along the way. Good luck in your quest. tug

if the grease is on your output shaft or all over your driveshaft and the underside of the body tub it might be the rear seal coming out of the tailshaft on the t-case

well i just got out from under the jeep.pinion seal is leaking a u joint is about to explode. I figure the noise is coming from the u joint. it appears the bearing went out. just went and bought to to replace for the rear

just went thru that... thought it was the throwout bearing but turned out the ujoints decided they didnt need bearings anymore... thank goodness the races are harder than the joints!!!

ya it is amazing the difference the new ones make. the jeep rides like a cadi now. it has stopped alot of vibration that i thought was normal road vibration!!
