Speaking of Christmas...

Well my grandfather has already told me that he is going to buy me a tow package for christmas. He went to the local U-Haul to check it out, when he left, he proceeded to call me and tell me that he wouldnt let any of those "monkeys" that were working there work on his car. so instead i'm going to get it on my own, and he's going to give me a check for it.

my question is what are some other local type places you might suggest i take a look at? i prefer local to having one shipped from an online order. but i called my local jeep dealership, and they priced me at $155 for the towing harness and $179 for the wiring harness. not as bad as i would have expected, but i figured i would check a few more places out if possible. so guys, who else sells trailer hitches along the lines of a uhaul?

I have seen them at Pepboys. I dont know if you have any near you though

I would go to a place like Pepboys or Kragen, maybe even 4WheelParts. I would definetly do the work myself though. Save you alot of money. As for the wiring that's the easiest I think. I wired mine right into the brake light wiring and mounted the connection plug in a hole that I drilled out in the bumper.

yeah i'll check them out judge, i gotta go there to get a new headlight bulb tomorrow anyways, i just question the quality of the brands there sometimes, but i'll take a look, and post the brands and see if anyone here has any experience with them.

and to you other guys, i'm def thinking of doing the install myself, i've done all the other work on my jeep, most of which i'm sure is more difficult than that. so i guess if the 'ol check is big enough, i might as well buy the mopar one, and then do the work myself. and jumppr, thanks for the motivation about the wiring, that was the only part i was questioning, but usually i'm more electronicly inclined than mechanicly, so i dont see it as being an issue anymore.
