speakers question

hey 'z' guys. i find the more work i do to this jeep the more i find my friends are either clueless or incompitent or both. what size are the dash speakers in the 88 yj i got mine are not there and i need more treble to go with my bass. so i was thinking you guysat the 'z' would have changed them out and know what works. i need to do the speaker install and blazer blower and windsheil gasket all at the same time i only want to pull the dash one time. so here it is
what type do you guys run. no amp or nothing just a head unit to them. any ones that are water proof? i think i'll see my fair share of water with this jeep and i waterproof as much as i can.
any help with the install would be nice too i know its a pian to get them in but if everything is apart then i think it would be easyier right ?

The dash speakers are 4x6...When it comes to my sound system, i believe you spend as much as you can aford. The more the better. Just dont buy some cheapo paper speaker than will fall apart the first time it rains. I have eclipse in mine (79.99) and haven't blown them yet(3yrs & counting) and thats with 125x2 amp........
