Electrical problems, ignition switch?

doe sanyone know how to make a snokel for a TJ or where i could find a write up on how to do it? i need one bad but i dont really feel like shelling out 250 bucks for something i know can be made out of some pvc.

it certainly can... all you have to do is route some pipe outside starting at your air tube... BUT.. you want to make sure it is sealed VERY well... and it usually requires some body cutting to do so... there are different methods of filtering a snorkel... you can use a filter... but many can get great filtering with a trap, which i have not looked into doing

You can just basically use some kind of PVC pipe, or a grey electrical wire pipe (like the one that goes from the electric meter to your house). I used a short piece of that grey tubing to fit a K&N cone filter instead of having to pay 300 for the a piece of PVC and a sticker. I used PVC cement and made sure it was air tight. I would personally avoid having to cut the body to attach this mod. Try to find another way to , even if it means going out under the engine compartment and then up. -Al

I've seen a site a long time ago but I can't remember where. From what I remember, the snorkel they made went into the factory air box through the side of the jeep. They had to seal up the hole in the air box where the air is sucked in through and relocate it to a different position. They used pvc or abs pipe going up the side of the windshield frame and to the hole in the side of the jeep. From there, they used some kind of waterproof, flexable hose and ran it through the hole in the side of the jeep and into the air box. For the head of the snorkel, you can buy one from ARB similiar to the one on my snorkel for pretty cheap. I'd recommend getting a prefilter for the head instead. You can get a prefilter from these guys... www.donaldson.com ....click on engine + vehicle, then air filtration, then top spin pre-cleaner. This is what ARB recommended to me for a precleaner.
