Width and lug pattern will be the same, but you'll need to weld on new spring perches and likely shock mounts. The XJ is SOA from the factory and the YJ is SUA (spring under axle).
The XJ came with the Dana44, Dana35, and Chrysler 8.25" axles over the years, most commonly with the 3.55 gear ratio but can be found with other ratios. The D44 and Chysler 8.25" are fairly strong axles, much better than the D35.
