Creative High Lift Storage on TJ's?

Okay here goes, one more and I'm done for today.

I want sidesteps on the JEEP. I don't want tubes or boards, I want steps. I once saw metal steps that were springloaded and popped up three inches when you were not using them. I can't find the link to them now!

I can't afford slider/rock panels to use them instead. Any ideas here? Anyone found any single steps that aren't plastic or gaudy?

Thanks again!

These are too funny, honest! LOL Reminds me of one other time when L33 said on a thread that they had some sort of footloop that you could buy that was like this one. I haven't seen any in person or don't know anyone with them. I gotta find something though. I appreciate the link, I'll check it out more! I see it comes with different types of stirrups, might come in handy and be cheaper after all.

Even though that springs up when not in use I could still see that getting snagged on rocks pretty easily. That's just my opinion though.

DO you know anybody that welds? You could buy the steel for a rocker guard pretty cheap (4" angle iron) and have someone weld a step on it. I bet you could do it cheaper than those steps and you would have both rocker protection and steps.

OR

You might be able to find a set of the old style CJ steps (ebay)?
