Oil everywhere, found the source

Dont know if you remember my dilema with my gals 93 2.5 shooting oil everywhere, but I suspected it was overfilled. Well, I changed the oil and such, and there didnt seem to be a leak, save for a small bit near the oil filter. Keep in mind there is still no oil pressure... So today I finally get the time to buy a new sending unit and go to put it in and oil is leaking from the top of the old one, where the little clip plugs into the sending unit. Looked at my 4.0l and there is no oil coming out of the sending unit and I have normal oil pressure. So am I right to believe oil should not be coming out of the sending unit and that the sending unit is bad?

Yes that should be the case. For oil to be comming out though it the diaphram must be leaking and that would make it read low or not at all.

Look for a CCV clog since pressure may be building in the crankcase.

yup, that is what happened to mine....although the sender quit working about a month after I got my jeep.....I didn't start leaking oil until about 4-5 mounths later....very cheap and easy fix
