I checked the air pressure in my tires(31x10.50R15)front right had 24pds.right rear was 30psi ...if max pressure recommended for these bf goorich all terrain T/As is 50psi per tire ,what pressure would yall recommend running in them (pavement driving only right now)? Goodyear tech said 40 psi...would yall agree?thanks.

Depends a lot on the weight of the jeep, and width of rims.

Best way to judge is to put a chalk line across the tire tread and drive a short distance. If the chalk wears evenly, you're at the correct pressure.

I'm guessing your on the high end, I would bet high 20's to low 30's. I run about 25psi onroad with my 4banger.

thanks again Bounty Hunter,Im going to rotate the tires front to back ,and I will check the torque values on all the lug nuts, and every front end part I can think of...

I just got 31X10.50 Stampede Radial A/S for mine about 2 months ago and I run 32 lbs in them. I think I need to go back to the tire shop and have them recheck the balance though, once I hit around 58-62 mph, the "SHIMMY" starts. It's so aggrevating.....

I dropped off my jeep at the local dealer today, and told them about the shimmy.last night when I was going down the highway, the shimmy started, didnt hit a bump or anything.so strange, theyve had it since 8 this morning ...havnt heard anything yet, hope they can clear it up.I hope they can fix your shimmy,I know its a bummer to have trouble like that after spending so much money,Im sure those tires werent cheap.ps...wre did u get those cool skull jeep decals?

I will be interested in what they find out on your jeep. As for the stickers, I found them on ebay. I like the whole skull, "Dark" theme and finally after much searching found some I liked and had them made in silver.

You will have to forgive me if Im not following rules on this tardy reply...Im new to actually being involved in the forums.took the jeep to the Jeep dealer, explained that I just bought the jeep used from aNissan dealership in Buford,Ga.,and I just found out about steering wobble(of course when I test drove the jeepfor 30 min. it handled great). So the next day I pick it up,they replaced the steering damper.so after so much research I knew this would be a temporary fix.So I took it back a second time last week, and explained to him that its handling a lot better, but theres still slop in the steering(somtimes when I hit a bump with right front tire only, the steering wheel shakes some side to side, but not death wobble).so the jeep dealer had it all day Friday, and they did nothing to it,saying, since it had 10 inch rims and 31x10.5x 15s on it that the "big tires" would keep wearing out steering dampers.the 06 wrangler x only has 10,000 miles on it,and there is no lift, everything else is stock.I guess ,if nothing else,at least I can drive it till I find the problem.then maybe if I show him what he needs to replace...dang it,I took the service dept. 2 dozen dougnuts for nothin.

I hate when a problem like that can't be solved! You're not alone. I think I need to get my 31's rebalanced again. the whole jeep is still wobbling when I get to around 60-65 mph. I don't even have 200 miles on the new tires either. I am going to try to rotate them tomorrow if I get time and see if that does anything first. Then it's back to the tire shop for them to be rebalanced.
