My Jeep has undergone minor surgery

Started with a wheel base augmentation compliments of a BTF YJ 2 XJ bumper:

And then it received a sheet metal trim via a comp cut:

I have been looking at that kit for a couple months now. Was it difficult to put in and any special modifications you had to do to make it fit? Also, what are you useing for a fuel cell? I know they have a special 15gallon fuel cell that will fit under the Jeep where the old tank was and still allow the use of the YJ to XJ conversion, it is a little expencive though. Lastly what are you running up front? I am guessing about a 2.5 inch spring that is SoA.

Looks great. Love the "speed" scratches.

It wasn't very hard to put on, but then again I can have my axle out in under 45 minutes. I wound up cutting off the rear crossmember so there was only frame rail, cleaned that up, and welded it in place. I actually thought it should have been about a 1/4" wider, because the side plates don't sit perfectly flush to the frame rail and the bumper, but then again my frame is probably tweaked (as you can see I'm not easy on it). If you know what your doing as far as welding and cutting its not hard. If you don't like your body it's even easier, I actually just cut the body away so I could weld it. :D

As far as a fuel cell, the gas tank is just strapped to the floor in the back.

Up front I just have some mixed up stock packs that I've made up. I keep breaking leaves though and it's driving me crazy.

Haha forget putting it on that. The next major thing I do will be a buggy build. It isn't worth my time and effort to reconfigure that to run the way I want it to.

When I read the title, I was kind of hoping it would be a heart transplant.
The mod looks good. I dig BTF's weld on kits. They definitley make life simpler. I need to get one of their battery trays. I don't know how, but I have bent my current tray.

Sexy...

Since I just finished my axle swaps... I figure I can break what I got while start to plan round 5...

I was planning on that kit, xj rears, rancho 44044 front..

Regardless Definatly dig it!
