My 1995 4.0L YJ has a miss while idling and hesitation while driving. I have checked the fuel pressure, 50 PSI, however when I removed the vacuum line from the fuel pressure regulator it did not fluctuate like it was supposed to. I checked the vacuum and have 18 in hg at the regulator. I have replaced the following: fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, ignition coil, spark plugs and wires, pick up coil (distributer is only 4 months old), and crank sensor. Anyone have the same problem? :?|

Did a compression check and it turns out that my #1 cyl has about 55 psi less than the rest. I think ive found my problem.

Time for a rebuild?

I've got a similar problem, had a bad miss so I did a complete tune-up. It's still there and I've narrowed it down to the #3 cylinder. It is intermittent, it will clear up and run fine occasionally, I think it's a bad injector.

Update: Found my problem it turned out to be a bad connection at the plug to my crank positioning sensor. It has been a headache for a couple of months but I got to know my jeep a little better. If anybody is from the jacksonville NC area and would like to go wheelin drop me a line.

hey guys i have been having a similar problem with mine but it only seems to happen this time of year through the winter Ive done a complete tune up and replaced my fuel pump and filter o2 sensor and temp sensor. While im driving(usually at cruising speeds) the car just stutters and and goes then stutters and goes. I am just about fed up with this and cant seem to find a mechanic that knows wats wrong.
