kumho mud tires

are these good tires? right now i have bfg at's and am thinking of getting a more agressive tire. The kumhos are cheap, and i'm wondering how they compare to other tires on the market.

For years I ran the Kumho 31x10.5's on my Toyota 4-wheeler and loved them. Never had a bit of a problem with them. In fact, aside from having to plug nail holes, I don't think I ever took one off the truck till it was worn out. One set I changed was full of plugs. One tire had 25 plugs in it!!!!

The center lugs seem a bit close together for offroad driving, but i bet that helps them on road. Their price does talk, especially when considered after reading that review at off-road.com.

RE: How

So is there any tircks to running the Dunlopmud rovers, as far as air pressure on highways?, i hear they dont wear well on highways. Getting some on monday for X-mas

i run 35inch mud rovers. just get your contact patch right. right now i run 25 psi but if i want a perfect contact patch i run 21. drive down a dirt road and see how they pick up dirt at different air pressures. or you can soak them in mud and drive down the road and after a few hundred yards youll have a pretty good indication of where your wear is. from there let out some air until you hit full contact or just under

I think I might have suggested that in another thread. That is very subjective and I probably shouldn't have mentioned it. Any Mud tire will wear unevenly if not properly inflated. It's just that I have been told by 3 people they had problems getting them to wear evenly - may have been 3 people who don't know how to set the proper air pressure for their tires/maybe not.

Hey, if you're getting them for free, what's it matter?!?!?
Maybe you could make some money doin' a test for some tire website!!

yeah i know that was brought up before but i couldn't remember/find which thread it was in, figured would'nt hurt to ask again. (redundant aint I?)

RE: Re: RE: OT-Ordering Pizza in the future

My mudrovers have been great. I drive 60 miles a day four times a week and my tires havent hardly worn at all with over 10k on em. I am buying these again.

i like my mud rovers, theyre good for street driving and occasional offroad but i really want a set of swampers or mickey thompson claws for offroad, i think ill buy 37's if i buy a strictly offroad tire... hehe. but the mud rovers are a great tire i had mine twisted between two sharp edged rocks in a crevace, bound the steering up and spun them against the edges until the knobs caught and pulled me out and they came out unscathed

RE: Re: RE: Going newer... Got Questions.

Kumo has been around many many years and make big truck and equipement tires, Proven Quality and worth the bucks. tug

Kumho's are great, my set has gotten me everywhere I wanted to in the past year. I should copy that to the clipboard, I feel like I'm always saying it. lol Don't doubt the M/T tire.

Since it was already mentioned, I'll throw in my vote for the Dunlops as the best cheap all around tire. I loved mine. My 35s rode great and were alot smoother than any other mud tire I've owned. They aren't the greatest mire tire in the world, but they do good enough when you consider that they also do everything else just as good.

The Kumho's tread design might work a little better in a smaller size like a 31, but bigger than that and I'd go for the Mud Rovers.
