2 things, needs tire, but i want to lift, was thinking 3" suspension and 32" tires. ALso, any idea how to get my tailgate hinges to stop sticking?

Welcome and congrats on your Jeep! Your in the right place you will get great advise from these guys,.....
First off how often do you drive it and where(what kinda terrain) if its your DD (daily driver) becareful how you set it up, it will efffect the ride and handling of the jeep, what kind of engine, transmission, gears do you have now. All will determine the best set up for you and the terrain.
Is this your first jeep?

No, i had a 99 TJ with a 2.5 L. Sold it to go to law school. New TJ is a 2000 4.0 L automatic. No idea on the gears, the damn radiator or waterpump was leaking and Im waiting to fix it. Wont be a Daily driver, but something I want to be able to drive on the road. Tires are pretty much bald so i want to lift before i get new tires, probably a winter project. My daily driver is a Liberty.

Radiator AND waterpump hehe and while all that craps off lets change the belt too!!! Just keep saying to myself, I got a good deal, I got a good deal

on your tailgate hinge, look for a little hole to squirt oil in, maybe take it apart and clean or ream the hinge hole, Welcome to the hood, learn a lot here.
I'm one of those guys thats still spending money on my jeep and still saying "I got a helluva deal. 91 yj,2.5l,5 speed bought it for 500 dollars, got a total of 2500 dollars invested in it,has 127000 miles" I are happy camper"
attached is photo the way I bought it.
