ya'll might find this interesting to know. RC did it again

I've seen that a lot of people have gotten away with putting an XJ Dana 44 on their YJs. A friend of mine has a 78 or 79 J10 with 44's on it. Can I swap this onto my YJ? Will it work with an NP231? Can I do both front and rear? Anyone tried this swap?

RE: Interested in buying an 84 cj but need some advise

The J10 should be a 6 lug axle. The front axle should be a passenger side diff. It will not work with your YJ unless you swap wheels and transfer cases. If you want to go that far then you may look into swapping in the axles and a Dana 300. You will have better axles and a better case IMO.
Oh yeah, most people know this but in case you don't, wider axles will require moving the front springs outsid the framerail. There are weld on kits out there to do this.
