has anyone shortened a tj driveshaft?

i have heard of this as an option to getting a whole new driveshaft made up. even if you already had a shaft for your sye, this seems like a cheap and effective solution as a spare driveshaft.
i have heard you need a tj front driveshaft and a driveshft shop. what else is involved in this? any other parts. any write ups or threads on it?
thanks guys.

I've had a few XJ/TJ front driveshafts shortened for use in the rear with a SYE. It'll only work with the SYE as it is a CV driveshaft and needs the fixed yoke that comes with the SYE. Local shop here charges about $65 to shorten and balance.
