what size gears do i need in a 2.5 4 cylinder lifted 5"s with 35" tires to turn the tires over right

There are formulas all over the net to figure out tire dia/gear ratios to achive stock performance8). Good luck

My 2.5L 5spd turns 35"s very well with 5.38 gears. You want to go 4.88 or 5.13 if you have the auto transmission as it does not have an overdrive.

You can't run 5.38's in the stock axles, so you will need to upgrade to at least D44's. Stock axles are limited to 4.88 gears.

Not really a correction but an adition, you can fit a 5.38:1 in the D30... Those were the stock gears in a number of old D25,D27,D30 applications (which all add similar R&P dimentions), the rear axle is the limiting piece to going deeper than a 4.88:1 Someone might wat to correct me though.
