i just installed my 2" coil spacer lift with new mx-6 shocks. when we were doing it, we couldn't get the rear shocks off so we left them. i went to see if a body shop would do it and they told me that my fuel tank skid plate was really rusty and i needed a new one. any suggestions about which i should get and/or where?

If you'd like the opinions of the Jeepz community on the necessity of replacing your skid plate, post up a pic or two of the current (supposedly too-rusty) fuel tank skid plate for us to see. Maybe you do need a new one, maybe you don't. What year/model Jeep? Did the body shop ever remove the rear shocks?

Just saw the other thread on this subject..... but yet, no pics there, either..... good luck to you with the fabrication, Ben.

If your running a TJ, I would slap in one from Skid Row (SKF Mfg). I would say 90 % of our club run them and are great.
