ford 44 to a TJ

I am rebiulding a dana 44 front end and the bracketry is outrageous. Its like 450 for a decent set. So I was wondering if anybody knew where a less expensive set is.

I'll be using Ballistic Fab when the time comes: Link bracket / coil spring / shock mount combo

what about the control arm mounts?

I've cut the stock mounts of the axle and reused, its a PITA, you need to be real good with a plasma, but it is pretty cheap to do.

ive considered that but im not real good with a plasma torch and dont really know anybody that is.

what about the control arm mounts?

Look for the 'link tower' in the same bracket section, you would need 2 and a way to attach the driver's side above the diff. You would either need somebody that can weld to cast or run a small truss over the diff to weld to. I'll likely run a truss like this one: Medium Axle Truss [MIDTRU] - $115.00

wish I had instead of cutting up an old axle. They make them for ford and waggy 44s just not the ford cast wedge 44s.

Very nice but pricey once you add everything needed to run the TJ suspension.

It being for a Waggy 44 would it fit a ford 44? so i could put this on a cast front end with the wedges still on it?

They make it for a ford as well but only the one with welded wedges, you have to cut them off. They don't make one for cast wedge axles and unless you plan on running the ford radius arms, which can be made to flex real well and work like the long arms most companies make for XJs, stay away from cast wedges.
