RE: Re: still looking

I read in another forum about reseting the computer using "forced flash", erasing the adaptive memory.
It goes like this:
1) disconnect the battery cable and touch it to ground for 30 sec, then reconnect the cable.

2) turn the ignition switch to the ON position (do not start)

3) trun headlight ON

4) turn head light OFF

5) turn ignition switch OFF.

the reason I ask is that I am going to change my O2 sensor, I've gutted the cat, and took the air restrictor out of the intake. Does this reset work and sould I do this with all the changes Ive done?

Pro's Con's??????

If I remember correctly all you have to do is disconnect your battery for approx. 20 minutes and it'll reset the codes.

I was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of this before, I am looking for a little validation.
As far as the 20 min disconnect, that only resets the codes, this is supposed to reset the adaptive memory tables on the PCM. i read a little further on this forum and this was for a TJ wonder if it works on a 93 YJ??? will have to check.
