If its not overheating its good.... if the clutch goes bad the fan will not spin fast enough the draw the air into the radiator. If the engine is cold the fan is easier to move, and when the engine is hot the fan gets harder to move..
P.S. dont try to check with the motor running..
there is a thermal clutch on the fan... it works like a thermostat does... when the spring metal gets hot enough, it will change shape, and in the fan's case, it will throw out the catches for the clutch and allow the fan to spin
