Any thoughts? I suppose you could install it before the cat and then run a straight pipe so that you could get a little backpressure.

But would it be worth the $$$?

I don't know about being worth the $$$, that's up to you and how bad you want it, but it looks pretty cool to me! I dated a girl in high school whose daddy built her a '77 Camaro with a blown 428 and dual cut outs, but they were manual. There was a T-handle next to the console on the driver's side that opened them up.....cruising along at 60 mph and open those up and you'd blast up to 75 without having to give it more gas! Man that car was sweet. It was also good to get folks into trouble with, because she had fairly quiet glass packs, so it didn't seem like a very hot car. You could open the dump at a red light and rap it out when some hot-headed hot rodder pulled up next to you wanting to race. Then close'em back up and let the cops get the other guy as he lights'em up off the line. Or you could do the opposite and leave them close and rev it up a little (always sounded kinded like it wasn't running right), then when the light changed, dump the exhaust and smoke the tires all the way through 4th gear for a block and a half!!

Ahh, but I digress.....if'n I had a V-8 in the YJ, I'd most likely get me a pair of those....that electric part is pretty cool.
