RE: Re: RE: Do you heat with firewood?
What is the old motor, if you currently have a I6, the ax 15 can handle the duty of a stock chevy small block as long as you don't beat the bag out of it. if you have the 4 cyl, you have the ax5, you will need to replace!
now here is the worse part, My advice......I would try to source a 94-97 dodge with the 318 or 360 and nv4500 transmission, both will be a huge upgrade. see if you can locate one that had a rear end accident or roll over, or theft recovery. simply transplant all the drive train in to your jeep, and instant satisfaction (oh and all the computers and such as well) If you get a 2wd, you'll need an adapter for the Tcase, if you get 4wd, just use that Tcase.
Reason why I say go this route, the adapted from Advanced adapters to put a SB chevy in front of a jeep transmission ~$550 and all the electrical to get it running (assuming you go with EFI) ~$400 plus a new radiator ~$200 and motor mounts~$200 and all the other junk you will need.
Example... I am in search of a 91-93 dodge w250, straight 6 diesel, nv4500 transmission, D60f and D70r this will be my donor for my project!
