another dumb question from the rookie

I am fixing to go on leave so ill have about 3 weeks to work on my babydoll I need to know if the K&N air cleaner assembly will fit on a stock carburator it says it has a 2 5/8 neck flange how do I go about finding out what size to but and most importantly will it even fit on there Ive had some people to tell me it only works on a fuel injected model the model air cleaner assemby im going to get is on page 128 of the new 4 wheel drive hardware catalog its a 84 renegade straight six Im already using the K&N air filter so it will hopefully be the same one that the air cleaner uses :

2 5/8 is the most common 2bbl flange size. I'm pretty sure it will work on the carter. Take your current air cleaner off and measure the flange with a set of calipers or just eyeball it with a tape measure or ruler to make sure.
