Alright, exhaust questions now

I'm sorry guys, I know I've been asking a lot of questions lately, but I need the help. This is all relatively new territory for me. My question now is about exhaust cutouts. I have the opportunity to get an electric cutout for my diameter exhaust pipe for next to nothing and I was wondering if this was a good idea. The research I've done sort of contradicts itself. I don't think the engine with the stock cam and MC 2150 will run too well with the cutout, but what about with the clifford cam? Should I expect bad performance from both, or will it run better either way. I guess I need to know how the 258 responds to zero backpressure in both forms. Is there anything else I could do to run the cutout better? So, bottom line, am I in a position to gain extra torque from the cutout or lose it? Any help at all would be great guys. Thanks in advance, have a good one.

From what I've read you would lose bottom end torque either way. Would be my guess.

Do you think that the headers, 2.25" pipe, and a Borla muffler (no cat) will provide enough backpressure to retain my low end torque?

Yes.

I run an oem muffler with no cat on my 2.5L, and a turndown right behind the muffler. I think I've lost some low-end from not having a full tailpipe and I'll soon be putting one back on to check.

Alright, thanks a lot Bounty. Good luck with that tailpipe then. Have a good one.
