Where to start?
When I bought her she had been sitting for sometime and wouldn't start:
Replaced:
-plugs
-wires
-cap
-rotor
-ignition module (twice)
-stock carb with an Edlebrock 500cfm electric choke
-valve cover gaskett
-oil pan gaskett
-rear main
Other:
-got rid of old alarm system that was causing problems
-nuttered
-I think I have eliminated all of the pulse air from the old carb
She now starts but runs like s#%t. In the morning she is hard to start and revs really high. Sometimes it sounds like the starter gets stuck trying to turn the engine over. After she warms up the idle is really rough, almost like it is missing. Also on the highway when I accelerate I hear a knock/ping that sounds like it is coming from the bottom end of the engine. Oli pressure gauge not working. Temp gauge not working.
Unfortunately all company vehicles were taken off the road and she has become my daily diver so I can't just park her and tear the whole thing apart. I need to keep plugging away at the problems but have no idea where to begin. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!
