74 CJ5 - Do I need a swaybar?

I am beginning a restoration project on a rusty cj5. I only have driven it around the fields but never out on the road yet due to its current condition. My jeep is a 74 cj5 3 speed with a 304 and I wanted to ask how well it will handle at highway speeds and how fast it's top speed might be. And it doesnt have a sway bar because it never came with one from the factory, so should I find an aftermarket one or just not worry about it. I would really appreciate everyones feedback!!

Just take it out and run it on the road s bars or mostly for curves or corners if she does fine there I would not add if u don't like the way she feels get an adjustable one I'd like to start another old jeep rebuild myself soon

Good luck

Hi. I'm sure your suspension isn't real soft so you don't need to have a sway bar. I have a 73cj5 no sway bar and handles very good on the road. Good luck

Like the others say, manual steering is god. No sway bar needed when moving easy squeezy, 62cj5 like a beast
