My gals 93 yj just blew out the cat and needs a replacement. Muffler guy put it up on the lift and there is a hole on the rear most part of the exhaust manifold that looks like it should have a bolt in it, but it doesnt. He also said this could be a port of some sort, or the bolt that was supposed to be in there broke or rattled out. It is in the same area that a bolt would be, and seems to have the same circumfrence as the manifold bolts. Hope yall can help me out, thanks, lane

My YJ was missing a bolt in the manifold (2.5L). I think that is real common for some strange reason.

It's very common for the front and rear studs to break on the 2.5L exhaust manifold. Chrysler issued a TSB on it and my '95 2.5L was fixed for free and the dealer as it fell under the 8yr/80K extended emissions warranty.

You'll have to remove the broken stud by drilling and using an EZout or other removal method. Really quiets down the engine when it's fixed.

Weird, My rear bolt on my 2.5L manifold is also missing. I noticed it when re-routing my exhaust in front of the oil sump. If anybody knows the length and thread count of this bolt, please post it. Thanks.
