RE: Sensors and vacuum

I just bought a set of 15x10 Cragar 398s in March. I mounted 33 x 12.5 Goodyear MTRs on them. I just bought a pair of Dana 44s last week. The lug pattern doent match the wheels. I have to get new rims. Ill get the same ones, but I noticed I can save $20 rim if I go to 15 x 8 instead of the 15 x 10. Thats cool cuz Ill lose $20 rim selling them!

So... Is it ok to go with the 8" rim with those tires, or do I need to get 15 x 10s again?

BTW: THE RIMS ARE FOR SALE... You can see them in my members pics, plus to prove how new the rims are in the pics... do a member name search - hoobness - youll see that in march i asked a million questions before I bought the rims...

Sure, 8" are fine. I think most people who wheel O/R prefer 8" to hold the bead better if you air down to, say 10 or 12 psig. BUT, I think the 10" work fine and look better for the street  . I bought mine at Costco as well as the BFG 33X12.5s but they wouldn't mount them because the computer said they were too narrow.

8" would accually be better in a offroad situation.

allows for the tire to remain on the bead at a low pressure with out a bead lock!

what about treadwear on the street? Will they wear prematurly if mounted on a rim 4" narrower..? Do I risk any safety issues? easier blowouts..?

I had mine on 8" rims for 5 years and ~40,000 miles at 27 psig and they still looked even to me.

I used to drive mine up north every weekend in the winter  so they saw plenty of highway use ( use a 2005 Outback now  ).

RE: Anyone going to see Dave Matthews in St Louis?

8" is the way to go, and as for treadwear, you just need to run a little less air than with a 10"rim to get the flat contact patch.

Transmission cooling tech.

Get the 8" wide wheels.

Just for some comparison, my 44x18.5x15" TSL's are on 10" wide wheels and I would NOT put them on a wider wheel. You'll be very happy with the 8"'s
