    Heater Core

Unfortunately some aftermarket heater cores simply don't work as well as they should. My brother had that problem with a Ford some years ago, eventually went back to a factory unit.

    2009 Engine Rebuild

You never know. My brother had a Ford Escape engine completely disassemble itself just a couple thousand miles outside the warranty. They negotiated a brand new engine, installed for $1500. Not a bad deal.

    MPG any thoughts?

keep in mind that the 'city driving' figure is NOT stop and crawl city driving. It would be described as more of a suburban driving periodic stopping and going.

    Snow is taking its toll

... agreed. I have heard a Jeep engineer (from the factory) say there is no harm in leaving it engaged.

    Question about leaf springs

Keep in mind that the spring leaves are actually carefully designed to provide two effects 1) distribute the stress evenly (hence putting a poorly selected extra leaf may actually concentrate stress) 2) provide for progressive spring rate. Unlike coil springs which have a more or less...

    electric supercharger

note the 900W motor. Enough to be a concern for your alternator output, but nowhere near the energy required by a belt driven real supercharger.

    31" and 13mpg

I don't know where you live but cold weather and 'winter gas' will lower your mileage noticeably.

    jeep carburetor

    1) you need to do more thatn replace the carburetor to make it work properly. You need to 'nutter' to bypass the carburetor/ignition controller as well 2) technically it's not street legal. Depending on where you live that may not be a critical issue.

    New and full of questions

A Jeep is NOT the choice for fast driving. High center of gravity, solid axles etc. If you want fast, get a Porsche Cayenne. If you want a very off-road capable, mechanically simple, highly personalizable vehicle, then get the Jeep.

    Battery Problem

You certainly have a connection problem. Do a voltage drop check under load to find it.

cj-5 . what new automatic trans is best?

Just keep in mind that any 'modern' trans is going to require a computer, which will complicate the installation (sensors, wiring etc), and quite a few of them are trouble prone. There's a lot to be said for the fundamental reliability of the 3 speed TFs.

    Wiper Blades

This is an old and useful trick in the antique car crowd. There is invisible film that can get on glass and glass cleaner does not remove it. BTW DO NOT use ANY OTHER 'scouring cleaner'. Ajax etc WILL ruin your windshield. Only use the Bon Ami product.

    '89 Auto trans leaking

You're going to have to clean it up good then look again. Also be sure you're not overfilling it. Check the fluid HOT with the engine idling in neutral. I made the mistake of filling it cold and it started spitting out the breather when it got hot. It could be the selector shaft, though that...

possiable sieze!!!! help me and give advice

I did that years ago to a GMC (put in an oil pressure gage after that). When the engine cools down it may run for a while, but it's damaged. At very least you need new bearings, possibly crank turned as well. You also need the help of a trusted shop, mechanic, or knowledgeable friend. The...

    Driving light setup your favorite??

I had Pep Boys fog lights and replaced them with Hellas. Difference was day and night... not only brighter but much more accurate beam.

    PC crap again

Interesting that 'in the year of our Lord' is the ONLY reachingly remote reference to anything that could be considered relgious, though using a common terminology of the day when referring to dates (just as we still use terms like January (Janus) or Wednesday (Woden). If religion were to be a...

    PC crap again

Though stricly speaking, to put up a Christmas tree in the Puritan colonies was a criminal offense. This is not like some other PC arguments which interfere with private behavior. it's more about whether the government should be doing religious stuff, or it should be left, where it belongs, to...
