4 Wheel Drive hardware makes a fantastic, well priced YJ lift. I would have a hard time sepending the money on a lift kit that gave me 1.5" of height. YJ's are low to begin with, you should reasearch 2.5" kits. A 2.5" kit would work well with your new 31" tires.

Hey guys- Has anyone installed an electric fan in front of their 258? I am curious as to the size of fan that would keep my jeep running cool. What fan size, or what brand has worked for you? Did you place the temp sensor in the manifold or radiator?

This month I will be converting my 79 CJ to power steering. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions about where to find the parts? I have located a pump bracket but need everything else. Thanks for the Beta.

I just put the TFI upgrade on my 79 CJ5. It was the best $100 bucks I have put into the jeep! My Jeep has never seen 75 MPH before the upgrade.

You could make sure all your emissions related vacuum lines are in good shape and have vacuum where they should. I had a Datsun 280Z that would not pass and it was a simple vacuum line.

I guess your gonna need to cut and splice them on to the new TFI coil plug. The (+) is red and the (-) should be green, this is also the tach wire. The new TFI plug should have a red and a green wire attached to it. Does that help?

Its pretty simple: The old coil has a (+) and a (-) wire attached to it, the TFI coil has a (+) and a (-) connection as well just move the wires from the old coil to the new one. To make life eaiser buy the $3 plug that plugs in to the TFI coil.

Do you have a voltage meter you can hook up to the battery, then the alternator then the back of the gauge? This will let you know if this same oscillating voltage issue lies in any of the components. My guess is the gauge is shot.

The top looks like the Best Top Tiger Top. The top has a few water marks on it, other than that it looks great, the windows are clear and the top has no tears. 4WD hardware has the top for $620, how does $300 sound? What is your email, I will shoot yo some pictures.

I will bust it out of the box and see what model it is and get back to you. The top has never been on my Jeep. When I bought my jeep it had 2 tops.

I have a newer 258 in my 79 and the motor mounts are identical. In fact I just replaced them with Prothane mounts I purchased from Collins Bros, they were about $65 and I highly recommend them. They keep the engine in place. If you go with the Prothane mounts there is a plate that extends past...
